The Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye is organizing the second Conference on Media Literacy to Combat Disinformation in cooperation with Istanbul Bilgi University on 5 December 2024 to promote media literacy and contribute to the fight against disinformation. The conference, which will be held at santralistanbul Campus, aims to bring together media, academia, fact-checking organizations, digital platform representatives and artificial intelligence experts to promote media literacy, discuss effective strategies to combat disinformation, and discuss artificial intelligence, one of the most trending topics of recent years. The event, which will start with the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. Sinan Canan, will feature Ahmed Arpat from NTV, Selçuk Tepeli from NOW TV, Timur Altop from Youtube Türkiye, as well as representatives of fact-checking platforms, academics, journalists and digital platform representatives. At the end of the conference, where simultaneous interpretation service will be provided, students will be presented with their certificates. The conference will end with a surprise gift draw among the participants who follow the program throughout the day.
